Youth

Coptic Youth Diocese

A prescription for the youth:

Youth who do not know anything about their religion and their church and their dogma, etc.

What are the dangers and what is the treatment?

The dangers:
1. Will not have a personal relation with God and loses the inner peace.
2. When a question is addressed to him/her by a non-Christian person, he/she will not know the answer or may answer without knowledge or with ignorance and thus offends his/her religion standing.
3. Easy to stray away and easy to fall in sin.
4. Bad role model and a stumbling block to his/her peer.
5. As an unstable person, he/she is vulnerable to doubts and can be influenced and he/she can easily leave Christ.
6. If he/she remains in his/her ignorance, he/she will lose the eternal life.
7. The lack of belonging.
8. A negative and a very damaging influence on his/her family, siblings or future spouse and children.
9. Loses himself/herself and wastes a lot of time that can be used for his/her salvation.
10. Loses big opportunities when asked by any person; if he/she knew the answer, he/she would be able to assist in the salvation of that person.
11. The estrangement from the church is perdition; the fathers said: whoever wants God as his/her Father must take the church as his/her mother and there is no salvation outside the church.
12. Loses his/her trajectory specially when he/she is away from the church sacraments and this is the spiritual danger.
13. Loses the nourishment of the soul and has no personal happiness.

The treatment:
1. Reading religious books and the Holy Bible daily.
2. Watching religious films and seeking friends from the church; this will help you participate in the church activities.
3. Attending church services and meetings on a continuous basis.
4. Follow and cling to a priest from the church.
5. Follow and cling to a church servant and ask him/her about everything but in a gradual manner.
6. Increase the religious awareness about the church.
7. Allow opportunities to those who are trying to serve you whether your friends or the church servants.
8. Respond to the role of the church and the servants in the visitation, acceptance, embrace, encouragement and prayer.
9. Remember that there are numerous examples of people who were simple and ignorant and by the grace of God; God chose the weaklings of the world to shame the strong and the ignoramuses of the world to shame the wise.
10. Confession and Communion on a continuous basis to remain firm in Christ and allow God’s Spirit to work in you.
11. The practice of the church sacraments in depth and the avoidance of superficiality.
12. Force yourself to acquire knowledge.
13. Seek God’s help.
14. Discover your hobbies and use them.
15. Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you (1 Peter 3: 15).
16. Write any question that comes to your mind on a piece of paper so you do not forget it and then present it to the church servants.
